1. Nanotechnology: Nano Powder Morphology Control
Since developing spherical nano-powder manufacturing technology in 2002, Sunjin Beauty Science has continuously advanced its R&D efforts and, in 2019, became the first in the world to introduce rod-shaped zinc oxide. Compared to conventional spherical nano zinc oxide, rod-shaped zinc oxide significantly reduces whitening while enhancing UV protection performance, effectively overcoming the limitations of inorganic sunscreens.
2. Encapsulation / Hybridization Technology
By combining nano-powder manufacturing technology with micro-bead production technology, Sunjin Beauty Science develops and mass-produces world-class UV protection ingredients. This proprietary encapsulation and hybridization technology is exclusively owned by Sunjin Beauty Science. Encapsulated UV protection ingredients developed using this technology reduce the whitening effect and heavy skin feel associated with inorganic sunscreens, while minimizing skin irritation caused by organic UV filters. As a result, they deliver premium UV protection materials that enhance both sensory performance and product stability.

3. Hectorite-Based Emulsifiers and Thickeners
Sunjin Beauty Science became the second company in the world to successfully develop and commercialize surface treatment technology for hectorite. Building on this achievement, the company developed ECODROPGEL, the world’s first silicone-free, hectorite-based moisture-release W/O emulsification technology.

4. Active Ingredients Delivery System
Sunjin Beauty Science develops a wide range of skincare ingredients based on hectorite. This system utilizes the principle of forming a “House of Cards” structure within cosmetic formulations using the plate-like structure of hectorite. The key advantage of this technology lies in its ability to effectively encapsulate and deliver multiple active ingredients to the skin within this unique structure.

5. Micro Bead Manufacturing
Leveraging its unique capability to manufacture both organic and inorganic micro beads, the company became the first in the world to develop silica composite beads as an alternative to plastic beads. This innovation responds to the global demand for “microplastic-free” cosmetic solutions.

6. Surface Treatment Technology
Since the 1960s, fatty acid surface treatment has been the most widely used technology. However, due to hydrolysis and odor issues, silicone oil-based treatments became dominant after the 1980s. Recently, as demand for eco-friendly cosmetics has increased, customer requirements for silicone-free solutions have grown. In response, Sunjin Beauty Science became the first in the world to develop and commercialize fatty alcohol-based surface treatment technology in 2017. This technology offers superior resistance to hydrolysis compared to fatty acid treatments and is actively promoted as one of the company’s core technologies in both domestic and global markets.

Sunjin Beauty Science has developed the world’s first and only silicone-free moisture-release skincare formulations, as well as ceramide W/O formulation stabilization technology.
